about damplogic
DampLogic was created to solve a simple problem:
Most damp and mould issues are misdiagnosed — and that leads to unnecessary work, failed treatments, and wasted money
We don’t sell treatments — so our advice is completely independent.
Too often, “free surveys” lead straight to expensive treatments — without properly identifying the cause. That’s why problems come back, and money gets wasted.
We do things differently.
We carry out independent damp and mould surveys focused on identifying the real cause of the issue — not just the symptoms. We don’t sell treatments, so our advice is based purely on what the property actually needs.
The result is simple:
✔️ Clear, accurate answers
✔️ Practical recommendations
✔️ No unnecessary work
Our background in retrofit and building performance means we assess the whole property — not just isolated symptoms.
That’s how we identify the true cause, not just what it looks like on the surface.

Mark Leary – damp & mould surveyor
Mark has over 15 years’ experience in domestic energy and property assessment, with a strong background in retrofit, building performance and compliance.
As a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor and Retrofit Assessor, he understands how buildings actually behave — how heat, moisture and ventilation interact, and how this leads to damp and mould issues.
Rather than relying on assumptions or standard treatments, Mark focuses on identifying the underlying cause of the problem — whether that’s ventilation, building defects or moisture movement.
This whole-house approach is what allows DampLogic to identify the true cause — not just treat the symptom.
Mark is currently working towards RICS accreditation to further strengthen reporting standards and professional practice.

Jan Rennie – damp & mould surveyor
Jan has several years’ experience in residential property assessment, with a background in compliance and retrofit.
Her work focuses on how properties perform in real-world conditions — particularly in relation to ventilation, moisture and occupant behaviour.
Jan takes a clear, practical approach to surveys, ensuring clients understand exactly what’s causing the issue and what needs to be done to fix it.
She provides independent, straightforward advice based on what the property actually needs — not what someone is trying to sell you.

A more personal approach

If you’re dealing with damp or mould, the most important step is understanding the cause.
